[ The world nearly did end previously and Estinien would put his gil on the fact it'll be ending again sometime soon. That was just the way of things back home and he doesn't expect it to change no matter how many would wish for it to do so.

The corner of the room housing the infernal contraption gets a slightly sour look from the dragoon. He can't understand why there were those who preferred to spend all their time on the things, yet even as he thinks that Estinien makes a mental note to destroy the next person to challenge him to a "Mario Kart" game.]

I doubt it is sincerely that cathartic; it is akin to banging one's head against the wall repeatedly. And no, I am not "upset" because someone else abused their position to take the lead at the very end.
